This module will guide you through the fundamental theoretical issues and methods in the field of Educational Psychology.

Level 5 (Year 3)

Learning outcomes: 

On successful completion of this module you will be able to:

LO1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the key issues on the study of educational psychology (Summative Assessments 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5).

LO2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the role of the teacher and the educational psychologist (Summative Assessments 2, 3, 4 and 5).

LO3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the variety of research methods on Educational Psychology (Summative Assessments 3 and 5).

LO4. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the key elements to be considered when creating educational environments with a focus on the student (Summative Assessments 3, 4, and 5).

LO5. Take a critical view of the topics discussed on several resources on the field of educational psychology, including academic literature, documentaries, or interviews with experts (Summative Assessment 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5).

LO6. Apply the theoretical content of the module to understand resources on the field of educational psychology (e.g., academic literature, documentaries, interviews with experts…) and analyse given cases (Summative Assessments 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).

LO7. Demonstrate critical self-assessment of the own learning process throughout the module (Summative Assessment 5).

LO8. Demonstrate the ability to locate reliable academic sources and present them in accordance with Harvard Reference Style (Summative Assessments 4 and 5).

LO9. Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate ideas in a specified written, verbal, or visual form, adapting to the target audience (Summative Assessment 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).
