About

This module will deepen on applied aspects of Educational Psychology, with a focus on attention to students’ diversity through psychoeducational assessment and intervention.

Learning outcomes: 

On successful completion of this module you will be able to:

LO1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the basics of attention to students’ diversity (Summative Assessment 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).

LO2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the basics of psychoeducational assessment and intervention (Summative Assessment 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).

LO3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a variety of students’ special educational needs, including: (1) Sensory-motor needs; (2) Cognitive needs; (3) Language and communication needs; (4) Learning difficulties; (5) Autistic spectrum disorders (6) Behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties (Summative Assessments 2, 3, 4 and 5).

LO4. Describe in detail a given case involving special educational needs, being able to identify areas of psychoeducational intervention (Summative Assessments 2, 3, 4 and 5).

LO5. Apply the theoretical content of the module to understand resources on the field of educational psychology (for example, academic literature, documentaries, interviews with experts…) and analyse given cases (Summative Assessments 2, 3, 4 and 5).

LO6. Demonstrate critical self-assessment of the own learning process throughout the module (Summative Assessment 5).

LO7. Demonstrate the ability to locate reliable academic sources and present them in accordance with Harvard Reference Style (Summative Assessments 4 and 5).

LO8. Demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate ideas in a specified written, verbal, or visual form, adapting to the target audience (Summative Assessment 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5).
