Welcome to Master Dissertation module. This is a year-long module. It enables you to learn various research methods and apply the appropriate research methodology to explore a research topic of particular interest and to synthesise the skills and knowledge which you have acquired

Module Leader: Dr. Gloria Nogueiras
Class schedule: Mondays from 15.30 to 17.00 and Wednesdays from 16.30 to 18.00, Leadership (floor -1)

Assessment methods:
- A1 - Partial Assessment 1 (20% of the final mark) - Research Proposal
- A2 - Partial Assessment 2 (80% of the final mark) - Master Dissertation
Learning outcomes:
On successful completion of this module you will be able to:
LO1. Effectively and critically apply theoretical knowledge acquired during the course to a research work involving using actual data in a real-world setting (Summative Assessments 1 and 2).
LO2. Design a postgraduate level research project following the structure and the requirements of a formal research proposal (Summative Assessments 1 and 2).
LO3. Review the related literature to identify a problem/need or gap of knowledge and link the findings/results of the Dissertation to this relevant literature (Summative Assessments 1 and 2).
LO4. Select appropriate research methodology and effectively apply the research and methodological skills in a dissertation, including skills related to data collection, data preparation, data analysis and data presentation (Summative Assessment 2).
LO5. Carry out a complete research/project work and write-up findings following the structure and the needs of a formal dissertation with the following required elements: Title page, Acknowledgement, Abstract, List of Contents, tables and figures, Methodology, Findings, Discussion, Conclusion, References, Appendices (Summative Assessment 2).
